Have been using APCUPSD happily on an APC RM1400 with serial cable and Prolific Serial to USB adapter at my Dell XPS8900 CORE I7 dual channel with WIndows 10 and APCUPSD 3.14.13.
Worked great for a long time in v. 3.14.13 but needed to move the Dell to a new APC Back-UPS 750ES with an APC USB 127B cable between the UPS and Dell.
Immediately the PC installed the UPS in >Batteries as HID UPS Battery and installation of the driver for APCUPSD manually on the update to 3.14.14 shows in Human Interface Devices as the American Power Conversion USB UPS. Went through the config changing the cable type, ups name and type.
Win10 now installs a Power Options icon in the try and the APCTRAY icon still shows the "?", Network Local Host info with a Network Error and no Status. Have tried complete removal of APCUPSD and reinstallation, again heeding the need to install the APC driver manually but to no avail.
Please advise if you will, what I'm missing. Very knowlegeable in PC and networking but puzzled on this one. I know the support site does not specifically indicate support for Windows 10 but as had run the application successfully as a serial device, figured it was not PC / Application incompatibilty. I did not run it previously in Compatibilty Mode for other OS(s).
Many thanks in advance,
Rialbo
